I’m a catastrophizer

I fear the fall, the height, and the flight

I fear the eight legged, the four legged, and the two legged

I fear bridges collapsing.

Bank cards lapsing,

Gasoline spilling,

Constantly refilling.

I fear new places and old faces.

I am afraid of failing,

People bailing,

Letters mailing,

Weather hailing.

Being assaulted,

Banks defaulted,

Overly salted.

Over cooking,

Overlooking.

Never succeeding,

Always needing.

Living alone.

Taking a loan.

Holding a bow,

Lost in the snow.

I fear the man who lurks in the dark,

I fear the water swarming with sharks.

I fear the ocean, open and wide,

I fear the day becoming a bride.

I fear the day I will never recall,

But mostly I fear,

Fearing nothing at all.
