Traits/Personality

Skittish
There are three categories every cat falls into when something goes wrong: Fight, Flight, or freeze. Jaypaw falls firmly into the last two. It's not like she doesn't know how to fight, or is afraid to, she just panics. Sometimes this can make things worse as she is now either in the way, or long gone. She is frightful of new places and faces. She doesn't deal with change well and tends to shut down or hide.

Shy
Jaypaw is shy because she is self-conscientious. She worries that others will reject her because of her two colored eyes and strange looks, even though most of these thoughts are untrue, and just something she has thought up herself. When she was a kit she often hid behind her parents, and since she didn't have any other kits to play with, she doesn't socialize well with new cats. When she gets really stressed, she sometimes chews her paws, while it isn't bad most times and noticeable to those who don't know her well, it is a bad habit.

Kind
Jaypaw is the kindest cat you will ever meet, if you can get past her extreme shyness. She never has a bad word to say about anyone, and never likes to gossip or brag. She is happy to compliment someone, even if it is undeserved. She can be a great friend and a great listener. She's soft and sweet and won't raise a claw to anyone.

Playful
Jaypaw is always up for a game. Any game will do, even if it can get them into a little trouble, though she may be reserved at first. She loves to race and play with moss balls, and isn't afraid of a little competition, it actually is good to motivate her and bring her out of her shell. Soon she will be laughing and talking and will tell her new friend anything and everything. A family that plays together stays together right?

Innocent
Jaypaw was sheltered as a kit, and thus doesn't know everything that should be common sense. hasn't had the "talk" yet She can be a bit gullible and since she is so kind and not really able to stand up for herself, she is easily taken advantage of. She doesn't really understand all of the ins and outs of the troubles of the world and doesn't really think anything could really hurt her out there.

History

Kithood: Her parents Swiftcurrent and Wispstrike had been friends since the beginning. They were born in the same moon and played together as kits. Since Swiftcurrent had no litter mates, she spent all of her time with Wispstrike and his brother. They got into so much trouble together, and that didn't end with kit hood. They were apprenticed at the same time, and while they didn't spend a lot of time together in their early apprentice days, when their training loosened up a little bit, they spent much more time together. They and their mentors went on patrols and battle training all the time. Wispstrike grew away from his brother who was growing closer to one of the young warriors of the clan. It was quick for the clan to see where all of this was headed but it took the pair a lot longer for them to see it to. They were almost a full season into their warrior hood before Swiftcurrent slipped up. She confessed her crush to her long time friend and he confessed he felt the same. The whole of river clan was not surprised. They were together for many moons before they decided to have kits. They tried for a while before Swiftcurrent became pregnant with her first litter. They were born a half moon early and didn't live for more then a few days, just long enough to be named and the young parents to get attached. They were heart broken, and were unwilling to go through that again for a long time. After many moons, they tried once more, and once more, Swiftcurrent was expecting. She gave birth to three daughters and named each after the leaf bare season they were born in. While they were full term this time around, they were small and the season was unusually harsh. The weather and lack of prey picked off one tiny kit after another to join their two siblings in star clan. They and the clan were crushed. They had been the only kits since green leaf and it was especially hard on the young queen. Their next litter was an accident, and only one kit. He was stronger then his past siblings, but again he was no match for the leaf bare season. He was so close to becoming an apprentice when he contracted a bad case of green cough. Swiftcurrent and Wispstrike had given up. They were both upset from all their losses and vowed to not try for kits again and to never go through that pain. Many seasons pasted, and Swiftcurrent wanted to give it all one more try before they retired. While it wasn't unheard of for cats their age to be having kits, it wasn't common. The clan was nervous about the new arrivals. Their final litter consisted of three kits, two she-cats and a tom. Wispstrike was distant at first. He was there, but was reluctant to get attached to his kits. and rightfully so. The two she-cats were small and weak, but Swiftcurrent refused to give up on them. She nursed them and cared for them the best she could, but still one of the she-cat's didn't make it, and surprisingly, neither did the large tom kit. Only the small Jaykit survived the first moon. After her initial few days of weakness, she bounced back. She was happy and playful and strong, even though she was small. She was shy around her new clan the few times her mother let her out of the nursery she usually hid around her parents legs and only smiled shyly at the larger warriors. She was polite enough, but easily frightened from her parents' protective ways. The time came for her to be apprenticed, and her parents had to let her go.

Apprenticeship: Not long after she was apprenticed, her father moved to the elders den, but her mother remained in the nursery, wanting to help younger queens raise their kits. Jaypaw was excited to start her apprenticeship, though it was hard to see. She was afraid of everything and had to be persuaded to leave camp. It took nearly a moon for her to get over that initial fear and really begin her training. She learned swimming fairly quickly, and actually enjoyed it. she loved the water, excessively, even for a river clan cat. It was the only place besides camp she felt truly safe. She picked up fishing eventually, and has yet to start her battle training. more will be added as she ages

Stain forced herself awake. Now a days, she spent most of the day sleeping. Nothing ever happened while the living cats were awake. Other dark forest cats wanted nothing to do with the fiery, flirty she-cat, other then Icefang, but the Kit-killer was busy with her apprentices now, leaving the smaller forsaken warrior to sulk on her own.

The smoky warrior scrabbled her way out of the hollowed tree she called a den. Her claws dug ruts into the hard earth, pulling up clumps of glowing moss as she hauled herself through the narrow opening and under a small clump of brambles. The wires curled around her body catching on the outstretched branches of the foliage. Swearing, she toughed herself free, pulling a few crisp brown leaves down with her.

Her mood already soured, a bad sign even for her. With an aggravated hiss, Stain began grooming the dirt and moss from her ruffled pelt into a smooth shine.

The eerie light shining above the dark forest casting dark shadows. A thick fog seemed to spring out of no where, cloaking the forest in a thick whiteness, like snow but more suffocating like smoke. Stain glance up from her grooming, her dark dead eyes seeming to glow against the whiteness of the fog. The change in weather wasn't a strange occurrence. The exiled warrior stood from her angered grooming, her head barely clearing the top of the fog cloud as she surveyed the situation.
